An atheist in a Muslim land

is how I feel most of the time.

Although there are on-line voices that I tend to agree with, there is actually only one actual breathing man in this whole Ultra-Progressive city whose politics matches mine. And even my very few conservative friends (the rest are all either liberals or just vote for Democrats out of habit) are not nearly at all as “red-pilled*” as I am.

*The terms “red-pilled” and “blue-pilled”, popularized in science fiction culture, are derived from the 1999 film The Matrix. In the film, the main character Neo is offered the choice between a red pill and a blue pill. The red pill would allow him to escape from the Matrix and into the real world, therefore living the “truth of reality” even though it is a harsher, more difficult life; the blue pill would lead him to staying in the Matrix, living in a pretend comfortable world.
